Modern organizations need more than charts and reports. They need professionals who can prepare data, build reliable analytical models, create meaningful KPIs, develop executive dashboards and turn business information into decision-ready insights.
Industries: Banking, Insurance, Retail, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical, Hospitals, Government.
This subject builds the essential Power BI foundation for enterprise analytics, covering data connections, Power Query, semantic modelling, core DAX measures, and analytical reports. Students begin the continuous enterprise project by preparing and validating the data model for Subject 2. AI assistants support formulas, transformations, and troubleshooting, while students verify results against actual Power BI outputs.
This subject extends the Phase I model into advanced DAX, time-intelligence analysis, KPI frameworks, executive dashboards, drill-through analysis, and practical Power BI Service workflows. Students continue the same enterprise project while using AI assistants for formula development, debugging, narrative drafting, and quality review. Students remain responsible for validating measures, visuals, filters, and conclusions against source data and business definitions.
Students finalize the continuous enterprise business-intelligence project through model refinement, end-to-end validation, dashboard quality review, executive storytelling, and professional presentation. The capstone turns the Phase I and II work into a polished, portfolio-ready enterprise analytics solution. AI tools support review and productivity, while students remain responsible for the accuracy of formulas, KPIs, visuals, narratives, and recommendations.
Students take the role of a Business Intelligence Analyst for a mid-sized Ontario organization that needs to transform scattered operational, sales and financial data into governed, decision-ready reporting.
Throughout the project, you'll gain hands-on experience with:
1. Postsecondary diploma or degree, or demonstrated professional experience in a data, analytics, or software-development role.
2. Good computer knowledge and skills.
3. Passing an admission interview.
