What You Will Learn

You'll progress from OpenRoads fundamentals to advanced highway design and professional digital delivery while developing the same Ontario highway rehabilitation project throughout the program.

Subject 1 – OpenRoads Foundations & Corridor Modeling with AI-Assisted Workflows

This subject develops foundational OpenRoads Designer and MicroStation skills required for transportation infrastructure projects, with explicit integration of AI-assisted workflows using Bentley Copilot and related tools from OpenRoads Designer 2026.

Subject 2 – Advanced Highway Design & Digital Modeling with AI-Assisted Workflows

Students expand the preliminary transportation design into a detailed highway design project using advanced OpenRoads workflows, with integrated AI-assisted tools including Bentley Copilot for optimization, refinement, and validation.

Subject 3 – Digital Delivery, QA/QC & Professional Presentation with AI-Assisted Workflows

Students complete project delivery activities including drawing production (using AI label optimizer), quality review, quantity validation (AI-supported), documentation, digital delivery packaging, and professional presentation.

Build an Enterprise Project

Don't Just Learn OpenRoads. Build a Transportation Design Project, You Can Show. Throughout all three subjects, you'll progressively develop a realistic. Ontario Highway Rehabilitation Project, the project brings together OpenRoads Designer, MTO standards and AI-assisted tools in one continuous learning experience.

Admission Requirements:

1. Civil Engineering Technology diploma, degree, or equivalent industry experience.

2. Basic engineering drawing interpretation skills

3. Familiarity with AutoCAD or engineering CAD concepts.

No prior Civil 3D experience is required for standard admission.
