Become a Design and Technology civil engineer

Leading students to a successful career, this diploma can be pursued by both beginners and professionals in the civil engineering field. This civil engineering design and technology training program covers many related subjects. They include drafting, road/highway and piping design in civil engineering. Students will learn how to use Canadian/Ontario design codes in civil design projects and how to perform construction estimation and how to manage civil projects. They will gain proficiency in using civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil 3D and InRoads. Furthermore, they will also learn how to use ORACLE Primavera and/or Microsoft Project to manage a civil project and how to use Microsoft Excel and Sage Timberline software to performance engineering estimation.

Based on the standards of municipalities and provincial government of Ontario, students will work on a civil design project at the end of the diploma program. This will help them adapt to a real work environment and join workforce faster and with confidence. Currently this program is offered in Toronto area.

Admission Requirements:

Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent (or) passing an entrance test and admissions interview. In addition, basic computer skills are also required. Previous college or university level education in science, technology or engineering is recommended.
