Better Jobs Ontario (Second Career) is a government-funded program that helps unemployed or underemployed individuals gain new skills and return to the workforce.

How Much Funding Can You Receive?

Eligible applicants may receive financial assistance for training and related costs.

Eligibility

Who May Qualify for Better Jobs Ontario?

You may qualify if you meet certain eligibility criteria.

Laid-Off Workers

You may qualify if you:

  • • Were laid off
  • • Are unemployed or underemployed
  • • Are working temporary or part-time

Low-Income Individuals

You may qualify if you:

  • • Have been unemployed for 12 weeks or longer
  • • Are part of a low-income household
  • • Need training to secure stable employment

Additional Requirements

  • • Must live in Ontario
  • • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • • Must show training leads to employment opportunities
