Civil Engineering Design and Technology – Toronto Campus

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Civil Engineering training course at Metro College of Technology is a dynamic and hands-on program which will build your career in road/highway engineering and infrastructure designs. Leading students to a successful career, this diploma can be pursued by both beginners and professionals in the civil field.

This  civil engineering training program covers many related subjects.  These subjects include engineering drafting, road/highway and piping design designs using Canadian/Ontario design codes, construction estimation, and project management. Students will gain proficiency in using civil engineering software such as AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Civil 3D and Bentley InRoads. Furthermore, they will also learn how to use ORACLE Primavera and/or Microsoft Project to manage a civil project and how to use MicroSoft Excel and Sage Timberline software to performance engineering estimation.

Based on the standards of municipalities and provincial government of Ontario, students will work on a civil design project at the end of the diploma program. This will help them adapt to a real work environment and join workforce faster and with confidence. Currently this program is offered in Toronto areas.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS: Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent (or) passing an entrance test and admissions interview. In addition, basic computer skills are also required. Previous college or university level education in science, technology or engineering is recommended.
